  • Our approach

Kinleap uses a play-based and sensory-informed approach grounded in neurodevelopmental principles. Sessions are designed to feel fun and engaging, with children learning through movement and play while working on specific skills in a safe, supportive environment. The therapist takes time to build connection and trust with each child, meeting them where they are and celebrating their strengths. Parents are encouraged to be present during the 45-minute sessions to learn strategies they can continue at home, ensuring therapy translates into practical, real-world skills across all environments.

  • Working with families

Parents and carers are actively involved throughout therapy and strongly encouraged to be present during the 45-minute sessions to learn strategies and activities they can continue at home. Beyond individual sessions, hybrid support models combine therapy with parent consultations to keep families informed about progress, goal development, and implementation of recommendations across all environments. Education services include individualised home programs, one-to-one consultations, and sessions designed to enhance understanding and build parental confidence in supporting their child's development and independence.

  • Meet the team

The Kinleap team consists of Emma Wesche, a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and founder with over 10 years of experience working with children across a wide range of developmental needs. Emma holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) and is currently completing advanced training in Ayres Sensory Integration®. She brings expertise in supporting children with autism, ADHD, sensory differences, genetic conditions and complex developmental needs, delivering warm, evidence-based, family-centred therapy with a calm, collaborative approach.

  • Your first visit

Your initial appointment begins with a relaxed parent consultation where the therapist gathers information about your child's developmental history, everyday challenges, strengths, hopes and goals. The therapist then takes time building rapport with your child to help them feel safe and comfortable before completing formal or informal assessments tailored to your child's needs. Sessions finish with a fun activity to encourage future engagement. After assessment, you'll have a parent feedback session to discuss results and develop a plan with goals focused on supporting your child to cope with the world around them and achieve their objectives.
