About Kids and Co.lab Occupational Therapy
Kids + Co.Lab is a Sunshine Coast–based paediatric Occupational Therapy service supporting children and young people with developmental delay, cerebral palsy, physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and complex medical conditions. We work with families, other allied health professionals, support coordinators, educators, and medical teams to deliver individualised, practical Occupational Therapy that supports participation at home, school, and in the community.

Kids and Co.lab Occupational Therapy lists
- Early Intervention Occupational Therapy (0–9 Years)
- Occupational Therapy for babies and children aged 0–9 years focusing on building foundational skills, supporting participation in daily routines, and strengthening family capacity.
- Daily Living Skills
- Support with personal hygiene, toileting, mealtimes, self-care, sleep, and dressing through task breakdown, visual supports, and environmental adjustments.
- Assistive Technology & Equipment Assessment
- Assessment, trials, and functional justification for equipment ranging from adaptive cutlery to wheelchairs, mobility aids, and home modifications, with NDIS documentation support.
- Play, Social Skills & Emotional Regulation
- Relationship-based, child-led sessions using games, shared play, and role play to support confidence in social situations, emotional understanding, and managing feelings.
- Fine and Gross Motor Skills
- Active, play-based sessions supporting coordination, strength, balance, handwriting readiness, and motor planning through obstacle courses, craft, games, and sports-based activities.
- Sensory Processing Support
- Help understanding a child's unique sensory profile with practical strategies for home and school, including movement-based play, calming strategies, and environmental adjustments.
- Mobile and Clinic-Based Occupational Therapy
- Flexible service delivery in family homes, schools, early learning settings, community environments, or clinic locations at Sippy Downs and Brightwater, with teletherapy options available.

Our approach
Kids + Co.Lab uses a family and goal-centred approach to occupational therapy, working collaboratively with the key people in your child's life to empower your support systems and help achieve meaningful goals. Sessions are delivered as part of your family routines in homes, schools, childcares and the community, tailored to your child's individual needs. The therapists focus on building skills within your existing support network so that therapy becomes less necessary over time as your child grows and develops. This collaborative model ensures that the therapy fits naturally into your family's everyday life rather than existing in isolation. The service is grounded in best practice combined with the lived experience of clients and families, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Working with families
Family involvement is central to the Kids + Co.Lab approach—collaboration with key people in your child's life is fundamental to how they deliver therapy. The service explicitly works to empower your support systems so that families and supporters learn and develop skills alongside your child, recognising that each person is part of a larger support network.
