• Our approach

  Kidlets provides evidence-based, goal-directed interventions tailored to each child's individual needs. Sessions focus on building independence and skills across areas like motor development, handwriting, self-care, communication, and sensory processing. Both occupational therapy and speech pathology adopt family-centred approaches, with sessions held in the clinic, at school, or via telehealth depending on what works best for your child. Therapy is offered in blocks aligned with school terms, and small group options allow children to learn alongside peers with similar challenges. The clinic also integrates unique approaches like hippotherapy—using equine movement as a therapeutic tool—to engage children's sensory and neuromotor systems.

• Working with families

  Parent education and input are central to the service. A parent consultation is included as part of the initial assessment process before goals and recommendations are finalised. The clinic offers parent education sessions throughout the year available to active, inactive, and prospective clients to further knowledge and upskill parents. School-based consultations include collaboration with your child's teacher to create a successful and engaging environment, and home programs are provided alongside clinic appointments to support intervention.

• Meet the team

  The team includes Madeleine Yeaman, Director and Occupational Therapist, who graduated from Australian Catholic University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and holds a Master of Disability Studies with Specialisation in Sensory Disability from Macquarie University. She is accredited in hippotherapy by the American Hippotherapy Association and is a qualified coach with Riding for the Disabled (NSW). Allicia Joiner, Clinical Lead Speech Pathology, is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with over 14 years' experience across community health, hospital, and not-for-profit settings, and has completed certifications in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk and the Sounds Write Program. Both clinicians are committed to evidence-based, family-centred practice and multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Your first visit

  Your initial assessment is up to 1.5 hours and includes face-to-face evaluation using both standardised and non-standardised measures tailored to your child's specific concerns. The clinician will assess your child's skills across multiple areas relevant to your presenting concerns. Following the assessment, you'll have a parent consultation—either by videoconference or in person—where goals and intervention recommendations are discussed before finalisation. A comprehensive written report is provided for all assessments, which identifies where support is needed and establishes a baseline to track progress.
