  • Our approach

Lorna offers a holistic evidence-based counselling approach that integrates validated psychological techniques like CBT, ACT and mindfulness with a whole-person perspective. Sessions address mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing, treating underlying causes rather than just symptoms and often incorporating lifestyle factors like nutrition and exercise. The approach is personalised and client-led, tailored to each individual's age, ability, needs, strengths and goals. Sessions may include trauma-informed, strength-based, action and play-based counselling, with techniques drawing from mind-based practices like mindfulness and meditation, heart-centred approaches like self-compassion, body-based work including breathwork and somatic techniques, and lifestyle integration around nutrition, sleep and stress management. Together with Lorna, you'll create a personalised plan focused on helping your child feel safe, listened to and understood while learning practical strategies for emotional regulation, confidence and daily functioning.

  • Working with families

Lorna works collaboratively with parents and carers as part of the personalised approach, creating plans together and offering integrated psycho-education and wellbeing education to help families understand the brain, emotions, behaviour and how lifestyle factors like food, sleep and movement affect regulation and daily functioning. The focus is on authentic professional support in a calm, welcoming environment where families feel listened to and understood. Sessions and therapy plans are tailored to your child's goals, age, ability and interests, with the aim of empowering the whole family to develop practical strategies for a healthy, happy life.
