Sessions provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you'll explore your thoughts and feelings with a compassionate, person-centred psychologist. The team integrates warm, collaborative care with practical strategies you can use between sessions. Whether attending in person at the modern Smithfield clinic or via secure telehealth, the approach prioritises building a strong therapeutic relationship while working toward meaningful change. Sessions typically run for 50 minutes and include time for questions, a care plan, and next steps tailored to your needs.

  • Meet the team

The team includes three registered and clinical psychologists led by founder Marta Barnes. Marta is a registered psychologist with over 35 years of experience, qualified with major government providers including Medicare, NDIS, WorkCover and Veterans' Affairs. Laura is a Medicare-registered clinical psychologist with 10+ years' experience across youth mental health, disability and child protection, specialising in trauma, anxiety and family work using EMDR, schema therapy and attachment-based approaches. Sarah is a registered psychologist experienced in anxiety, depression, PTSD and eating disorders, offering services in English and Polish. Adam provides IT and operations support, managing secure systems and bookings behind the scenes.

  • Your first visit

Your first appointment begins with a brief intake to understand your goals and what brings you to therapy. During the session, your psychologist will listen to your concerns and explore your specific needs, providing evidence-based strategies and practical support. You'll have time for questions, and together you'll develop a clear care plan and next steps. After the session, you'll receive a receipt for any Medicare or private health claims, and optional resources or home practice suggestions to support your progress. The appointment lasts around 50 minutes and creates the foundation for ongoing, personalised care.
