  • Our approach

Therapy at Inner Transformations Psychology is tailored to each child's unique needs and developmental stage, drawing on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Positive Behavior Support (PBS). Sessions are designed with a client-centered focus that emphasizes empathy, warmth, and collaboration, adapted to suit each child's individual learning style. Children work with Simran on coping strategies, emotional regulation, social skills, and managing concerns such as anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties. The approach respects diverse learning styles and developmental profiles, ensuring interventions are personalized and compassionate. Sessions are typically held weekly or bi-weekly, with initial consultations lasting 75+ minutes and standard consultations 50+ minutes.

  • Working with families

Parent involvement is a key component of the therapeutic approach, with a particular emphasis on behavior management and parenting strategies. The clinic offers Parent Behaviour Management Training as a dedicated service to help parents develop effective parenting techniques and strategies for managing their child's behavior. Simran works collaboratively with families to support parents in adapting to raising children with disabilities and to help them develop coping strategies for their own well-being. Through this family-centered approach, parents are empowered to support their child's growth and resilience both within and outside of therapy sessions.

  • Your first visit

The first appointment is an initial consultation lasting 75 minutes or more, during which Simran gathers information about your child's needs and goals. This extended session allows time to understand your child's unique circumstances, strengths, and areas of difficulty, and to establish rapport in a warm and supportive environment. The appointment helps determine the most appropriate therapeutic approach and interventions for your child. You will also have the opportunity to discuss how therapy can support your family's specific situation. Following this initial consultation, standard sessions of 50+ minutes are typically scheduled on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
