Our approach
The approach is grounded in genuine care and evidence-based practice, combining assessment, counselling and medication support tailored to each person's psychological, physical, cultural, family and social context. Sessions incorporate a range of talking therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. The initial assessment involves comprehensive history-taking to understand mental health, stressors, symptoms and how physical health, coping strategies and relationships affect wellbeing. Sessions are delivered in person, by video link or telephone, depending on what suits each person best.
Working with families
The provider values the important role families and carers play in individual wellbeing and welcomes the opportunity to work alongside them to support meaningful, lasting change. Carer support is available, and the clinician can provide your GP with reviews of sessions and progress. While couples and family therapy are not offered at this time, referrals can be made to other clinicians and services if needed.
