  • Our approach

Sessions use a neuroaffirming approach that embraces each young person's unique strengths and perspectives. Evidence-based techniques are tailored to each person, drawing from attachment frameworks, trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, and mindfulness. The therapist creates a warm, welcoming environment with a relaxed, compassionate and collaborative style, incorporating warmth and humour to help explore thoughts, feelings and needs. The goal is to develop a genuine connection where you feel safe, heard, understood and supported.

  • Working with families

Parental involvement is often an important part of therapy when working with children, though the level varies depending on the child's age and type of therapy. The first appointment for a child is typically a parent-only session, allowing the psychologist to gather information about the young person and discuss presenting issues openly with parents to guide treatment. After this initial session, parents can be involved according to what best supports the child's therapy journey.

  • Meet the team

Genevieve Roberts is a clinical psychologist who leads the practice. She specialises in supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, particularly those who are autistic, ADHD, AuDHD and OCD. She is trained in assessment and diagnosis of ADHD and specific learning disorders such as dyslexia, and also works with neurotypical children, adolescents and young adults navigating anxiety, OCD, school stress and life transitions.

  • Your first visit

Your first session will be 90 minutes, starting with discussion and completion of consent forms covering privacy, confidentiality and your rights in therapy. The psychologist will ask questions about your history, background, family, school, work, friends and mental health experiences to understand what has prompted you to seek support. You may complete some questionnaires as part of this process. Your psychologist will also answer any questions you have about treatment expectations, confidentiality and the course of therapy ahead, and help clarify your therapy goals if this isn't yet clear.
