Our approach
As a solution-focused clinical psychology practice, the team uses practical skills and feedback to help you address current life challenges. Sessions take place in a comfortable and supportive environment with a personalised approach tailored to each child's individual needs. They draw from a variety of evidence-based methods including Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy, selecting what is most helpful for each person. Together with each client, they work to develop strengths and achieve life goals. Psychological assessments are also available to investigate possible learning or attention problems, ability, and other concerns.
Meet the team
The team includes multiple registered clinical and general psychologists, each with their own areas of expertise. Janine Lucas is a clinical psychologist with 29 years of experience and company director. Other clinical psychologists include Rikki Bee and Jacqui Gear (though Jacqui is currently closed to new referrals). General psychologists include Leanne Goodger, Miriam Nuske and Catherine Hodgson, each with experience across different age groups and presenting issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and behavioural difficulties. Provisional psychologists are also available and are supervised by fully qualified clinical psychologists. All staff hold appropriate AHPRA registration.
Your first visit
Initial appointments are required to be pre-paid at the time of booking. The first session involves meeting with one of the psychologists who will work to understand your child's individual needs and circumstances. For NDIS participants, a copy of the NDIS plan is needed prior to the first appointment so the team can match your child with a psychologist skilled in their specific treatment needs. The psychologist will then tailor the therapy approach and treatment goals to suit your child's requirements.
