Our approach
Therapy is delivered in real-life environments such as home, school, kinder or the park, tailored to suit each child's unique strengths, interests and goals. Sessions use a strength-based, family-centred approach where the therapist works collaboratively with parents and teachers to understand the 'why' behind a child's difficulty and develop practical strategies that can be easily incorporated into everyday life. The service celebrates each child's individual differences and aims to help them develop skills, increase independence and improve participation in meaningful activities, all while having fun during sessions. Evidence-based care is provided throughout the therapy process, with a focus on neuroaffirmation and advocacy for the child's needs.
Working with families
Parents are recognised as the experts of their own children and are actively involved throughout the therapy journey. The service works collaboratively with families, teachers and other health professionals to deliver consistent strategies across home, school and community settings. Regular communication occurs through phone calls, team meetings and practical strategy development, with home programs designed to be easily incorporated into everyday routines. Educational sessions are also available for parents and educators to empower them with knowledge and tools to support their child's growth and development.
Meet the team
The team includes Jake Du Chateau, the founder and an experienced Occupational Therapist with a long-standing passion for working with neurodiverse children, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Generalised Anxiety, Dyspraxia, sensory processing difficulties and motor skill delays. Emer Healy and Tom Perry are Occupational Therapists on the team. Chiara Gualtieri and Marley McGennisken are Allied Health Assistants. The team is small but growing, with members who are team players passionate about working with children and families, committed to collaboration, compassion and connection.
