Our approach
Fleming Psychology uses an eclectic, evidence-based approach tailored to your child's individual needs. Sessions draw from several therapeutic methods including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), schema therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy skills, acceptance and commitment therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), and mentalising-based therapy, among others. The practice recognises that children don't fit neatly into single treatment boxes and therefore uses a flexible approach to match what works best. During sessions, the psychologist creates a relaxed, collaborative space where you and your child work together to explore what has brought you to therapy, what has been tried before, and what feels stuck. The focus is on finding the best path forwards through authentic partnership rather than expert-led diagnosis.
