• Our approach

  Sessions at Engage Kids OT are designed to be fun, engaging, and client-led, tailored to each child's unique needs and interests. The team uses play-based approaches and interactive activities within the child's natural environment—home or school—to make therapy relevant and effective. Sessions may include games, exercises, and strategies to develop specific skills, with a focus on creating a supportive environment where children feel safe and comfortable. Family participation is woven throughout, ensuring that therapy extends beyond the session and into everyday routines. The holistic, client and family-focused approach aims to help children thrive and reach their full potential across all areas of daily life.

• Working with families

  Parents and caregivers are integral to the therapy process at Engage Kids OT. The team provides regular updates on your child's progress, offers guidance on implementing therapy strategies at home, and seeks your input and feedback to ensure a truly collaborative approach. Sessions include parent education focused on empowering you with knowledge and practical tools to support your child's development in daily routines. Open communication is encouraged throughout the process, with therapists happy to address concerns, discuss adjustments to therapy plans, and answer questions at any time.

• Meet the team

  Engage Kids OT is led by Lacey, the director and a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist with over 7 years of experience (University of Newcastle, 2017 graduate) specializing in trauma, ADHD, autism, and sensory processing difficulties. The team includes Molly, a Paediatric OT (Newcastle University, 2022 graduate) who builds strong relationships with children through creative, individualized approaches; Skye, a junior Paediatric OT (University of Sydney, 2024 graduate) making a positive impact with a thoughtful approach; and Danni, a skilled Paediatric OT (Western Sydney University, 2021 graduate) specializing in developmental delays, sensory processing, and physical disabilities. All therapists are licensed, highly trained, and committed to professional development to provide high-quality care.

• Your first visit

  Your first appointment begins with a free consultation to explore your child's and family's specific concerns and needs. During this conversation, the team will gather information about your child's medical history, developmental milestones, and daily routines, and discuss how they can best support you. A qualified therapist will outline a personalized therapy plan and explain how mobile services can be tailored to meet your child's needs effectively. If moving forward, the team will then connect you with one of their occupational therapists to begin sessions. This initial process ensures you understand the approach and can ask questions before beginning your therapy journey.
