Our approach
Confident Child Psychology provides psychological therapy and assessments for children and young people using evidence-based interventions and creative, child-friendly approaches. Sessions keep the child at the centre of the work whilst drawing on psychological evidence and therapeutic experience. The team works with families to identify clear goals, create a safe space, and help develop real strategies to support positive outcomes. They collaborate with schools and other professionals, and aim to build confidence in families so they feel equipped with strategies to cope when things feel difficult.
Working with families
Confident Child Psychology works alongside parents as collaborative partners, taking the child's point of view into consideration whilst involving families in goal-setting and strategy development. The team communicates with schools and other professionals to address issues and provide coordinated support. Parents are involved throughout the assessment process, with time taken to discuss findings and answer questions. The approach emphasises building parental confidence so families feel equipped with strategies to cope and support their child.

Your first visit
An initial assessment involves gathering and analysing detailed information to explore your child's presentation and provide information regarding a treatment plan. A detailed assessment report is provided which includes background information, observational summary and practical recommendations. The specific assessments required will depend on your individual child, their presentation and the questions being asked. The team will take time to discuss the assessment with you and answer any questions you may have.
