• Our approach

  The teaching approach centres on small group sessions with tailored resources rather than ad-hoc tutoring, delivered by trained teachers and curriculum experts. Sessions focus on the "3 H's"—heart, hustle and high expectations—with teachers acting as mentors and cheerleaders who support students beyond weekly classes, helping with everything from maths problems to essay drafting and time management. Students work with like-minded learners who question, collaborate and elevate each other's thinking, and teachers progress students based on readiness rather than age, either accelerating those ready to advance or providing foundational skill support. The Academy explicitly aims to diagnose where each student is at, place them with appropriately skilled peers, provide constant feedback in multiple forms, and celebrate academic achievement in an environment where learning is valued and trying hard is celebrated.

• Working with families

  Parents are kept informed through direct communication from teachers about student progress and behaviour, with teachers reaching out if students are not working to their full potential or if concerns arise. The Academy supports families by handling the "nagging" around homework, time management and deadlines, responding to parent emails about specific academic issues and providing extra resources and encouragement to keep students on track. Teachers know their students' assessment schedules, extracurricular activities and learning preferences in detail, showing deep investment in each family's context. Additionally, parents can access email support for academic queries, and the Academy offers parent seminars and maintains regular, responsive communication as part of being "a part of the village helping you raise amazing humans."

• Meet the team

  The Academy was founded by Peita and Rob Mages, highly experienced teachers who serve as directors and have strong classroom rapport with students. The team includes former Secondary English, Maths and Science Head Teachers, primary teachers with 10+ years of experience familiar with current curriculum, and teacher trainers. All staff are trained teachers and experts in the current curriculum, with qualifications and track records in lifting student results. Team members possess expert-level knowledge in their subject areas and the ability to develop instant rapport with students, bringing the "x-factor" that students respect and find engaging.
