Our approach
At Chemistry Unlocked, tutoring is personalised to meet each student's specific needs, with strong emphasis on developing conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Sessions are delivered online in real-time, allowing students to ask questions freely and access resources instantly. The approach combines theory mastery with exam-style practice and personalised feedback, whether through long-term structured programs aligned with the curriculum or short-term targeted support for assignments and exam preparation. Students work through topics at their own pace, with lessons tailored to individual learning styles, building both confidence and competence in chemistry.
Meet the team
The tutoring team consists of Achini Japahuge, who holds a Master's degree in Chemistry from Carleton University in Canada and a Bachelor's in Chemistry from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Achini specialises in HSC and Preliminary chemistry and has taught across multiple international curricula including Cambridge, Edexcel, Canadian, and IB programs. Currently engaged in research administration at UNSW, Achini brings both academic rigor and real-world perspective to tutoring, with experience supporting students across complex topics, exam techniques, and problem-solving strategies.
