Our approach
BrainTalk works collaboratively with children, families, and teachers to identify reasons for learning or social difficulties through psychological assessments. The service specialises in cognitive, achievement, and neurodevelopmental (ASD and ADHD) assessments, with reports designed to be reader-friendly and practical for parents, schools, and health professionals. Each assessment is individually administered and includes recommendations alongside useful resources to help children reach their full potential. The founder's background in teaching means sessions are informed by understanding of educational settings and curriculum.
Working with families
BrainTalk works collaboratively with families from the outset, and psychological reports are designed to be reader-friendly for parents. Background information from parents is gathered as part of the assessment process to assist in creating informed individualised learning plans. Reports include recommendations and resources specifically for parents and educators to help support children in reaching their full potential.
Meet the team
Fiona Ganino-Day is the founder and is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, Board Approved Supervisor, and Fellow of the APS College of Educational Developmental Psychologists (FCEDP). She is registered with AHPRA and the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). Fiona specialises in psychological assessments and has extensive experience working with children and adolescents in educational settings, with a background as a former school teacher and knowledge of the Victorian curriculum.
