Our approach
Sessions use a neuroaffirming approach through play therapy, cognitive-behavioural strategies, and emotional regulation skill-building to help children manage emotions, behaviours, and experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. The psychologist draws on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and play therapy with a holistic, client-led approach. Children are supported to cope with and understand challenges like anxiety, behavioural difficulties, social issues, or family changes. Every child is seen as an individual, and interventions are tailored to suit their diverse needs.
Working with families
Parents are invited to participate in the initial consultation and are central to the assessment and intervention process. The practice offers carer support through guidance, education, and practical strategies to help parents better understand and respond to their child's needs, including teaching effective behaviour management and communication techniques and helping create supportive routines at home. Feedback sessions are arranged to review assessment results and explore next steps, and parents complete questionnaires as part of the assessment process. All therapeutic intervention seeks to educate and empower children and their carers.

Your first visit
The initial face-to-face or telehealth consultation lasts up to 90 minutes, giving parents an opportunity to discuss their concerns and their child's needs. During this session, parents outline their child's developmental history, behaviours, and any current difficulties, allowing the psychologist to build a meaningful understanding of the family situation. This information guides the development of a personalised assessment and/or intervention plan. No referral from a GP is needed to attend.
