Our approach
Apex Psychology delivers evidence-based psychological treatment tailored to each individual's needs. Psychologists draw on approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), creating a collaborative and supportive environment where clients feel safe exploring their challenges. Sessions are typically 55 minutes long, and appointments are available in both face-to-face and telehealth formats. The practice prioritizes therapeutic alliance and working with clients to develop strategies that improve their wellbeing and help them reach their goals.
Meet the team
Apex Psychology has a team of 17 psychologists and registrars with strong qualifications and experience. Most hold postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology and are registered with the Psychology Board of Australia; some have additional accreditation as Educational and Developmental Psychologists and several hold Doctorates. All are members of professional bodies such as the Australian Psychological Society or Australian Clinical Psychology Association and are registered providers under Medicare. The team includes experienced clinicians like Dr Janina Szyndler (Principal, Clinical Psychologist with Doctorate) and registrar psychologists completing advanced training, with all registrar and intern work supervised by experienced clinical psychologists.
Your first visit
An initial appointment involves an assessment to understand your child's needs and circumstances. After the initial assessment, the psychologist will discuss whether they can help and, if proceeding with treatment, will work collaboratively with you to develop appropriate strategies. For insurance-funded appointments, the psychologist applies for further sessions once they determine they can assist. The usual appointment length is 55 minutes, and you can access services through Medicare (with a GP or paediatrician referral), private health insurance, or NDIS funding where applicable.
