  • Our approach

All Child Psychology draws on evidence-based practice with approaches tailored to each child's needs. Catherine McPhee uses a developmental focus with particular attention to attachment and secure relationships, drawing on Child-Parent Psychotherapy training. Victoria Thornton individualises therapy using principles of CBT, ACT, mindfulness and play-based approaches, believing strongly that involving families and schools leads to the most successful outcomes. Tamera Clancy provides attachment- and trauma-informed care tailored to developmental stage, with a practical, collaborative approach. Sessions address a wide range of concerns including developmental milestones, emotional and behavioural regulation, anxiety, and adjustment to significant life changes.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the service philosophy. Victoria Thornton works systemically and believes passionately that therapy is most successful with the involvement of family, school and those important to the client. Catherine McPhee works closely with families to help parents feel equipped in establishing secure attachment and nurturing relationships, and collaborates with paediatricians, GPs and allied health professionals. Tamera Clancy emphasises collaborative care with families, providing practical strategies tailored to the family context. All clinicians can be contacted directly to discuss your child's needs and next steps.
