  • Our approach

The practice uses a patient-centred, collaborative approach that draws on multiple evidence-based therapeutic models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and others. Sessions involve creating a safe and comfortable environment where the psychologist works with families to develop a shared understanding of difficulties and tailor interventions to suit each person's goals, strengths and circumstances. A multi-systemic approach is used, consulting with parents, teachers and other professionals to understand the full picture. The psychologist is patient and encouraging, helping clients and their families learn strategies and skills to manage ADHD effectively and work towards positive outcomes.

  • Working with families

The psychologist uses a multi-systemic approach and actively consults with parents, caregivers, teachers and other professionals involved in your child's care to fully understand the situation from all angles. Parents complete behaviour rating scales and provide self-reports, and their insights help identify where and why certain behaviours occur and whether other factors may be contributing. The comprehensive assessment gathers information from parents or guardians, childcare providers, teachers, school staff and any mental health professionals involved. Following assessment, an action plan is created in liaison with your child's school and healthcare professionals where appropriate, ensuring coordinated support between home and school.

  • Your first visit

The initial assessment gathers comprehensive information about your child's behaviour at home, school and during activities like sports. It includes interviews with you and your child, review of family medical history, and questionnaires completed by parents and teachers. The psychologist will spend time observing your child's behaviour and conduct clinic-based psychological and intelligence testing. Your child may also complete various written or verbal screeners related to ADHD symptoms. The assessment covers verbal comprehension, visual spatial awareness, fluid reasoning, working memory and processing speed. Following the assessment, you'll receive a comprehensive psychological report, a 30-minute feedback consultation and detailed recommendations for home and school along with an action plan.
