  • Our approach

Ability Consultants uses Positive Behaviour Support and Person-Centred therapy, grounded in promoting equal rights for people with disability. Sessions involve in-person visits to your home, school, or workplace, bringing support directly into your everyday environment. The team develops individual strategies tailored to your child's goals, with a focus on safely reducing restrictive practices and building independence through structured skill development. You'll receive practical training and coaching alongside your child, so you're equipped to support progress between sessions.

  • Working with families

Families receive individual training and coaching from practitioners, empowering you to support your child's progress at home and in the community. The person-centred approach means your goals and input shape the strategies developed, and the team listens to what matters most to you. Working alongside your family ensures consistent support and helps build the independence and skills your child needs for life beyond sessions.

  • Meet the team

The team consists of experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners, each registered as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner. The service is a certified Specialist Behaviour Support Provider with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. All practitioners receive extensive ongoing professional development and access to clinical support systems, ensuring high standards of expertise and care.

  • Your first visit

Your journey begins with a simple 10-minute online referral form, and the team aims to respond within 7 working days. Once all information is gathered, you'll receive a Service Agreement to sign. After consent is confirmed, the average wait time to connect with a clinician is 36-41 days, depending on your region. The initial assessment sets the foundation for understanding your child's needs and your family's goals.
