Our approach
Ability Action Australia delivers evidence-based therapeutic supports tailored to each participant's goals and needs. Sessions combine face-to-face time with the clinician and non-face-to-face time spent on preparation, documentation and sharing updates with your support network. The organisation works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals with different skills to support as many of your needs as possible. Clinicians can work with you at one of their clinic locations, in your home, in the community, or via telehealth. The approach focuses on understanding your unique needs and delivering the outcomes you desire.
Working with families
Parents and carers are actively involved in the support process. Clinicians share updates with your support network as part of their non-face-to-face time, and work to involve family members in understanding strategies and goals. The Key Worker Model for early childhood support is highlighted as particularly effective, with clinicians identifying areas of concern, helping families navigate complex service systems, and empowering parents to support their child's development and independence.
Meet the team
Ability Action Australia employs occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, psychologists, behaviour support practitioners and early childhood specialists. The organisation has a growing national team of dedicated clinicians supported by their parent company MedHealth, which has over 3,000 committed professionals and more than 1,200 independent medical specialists across all major medical and allied health disciplines. Clinicians deliver localised expertise across more than 300 locations across Australia.
