  • Our approach

Sessions begin with play therapy to help children feel at ease and communicate their thoughts and feelings naturally. A supportive and calming environment is created to understand what each child is going through fully. Psychometric assessments and a special anxiety management program are offered as part of individualised counselling services tailored to each child's unique needs. Services use evidence-based therapy methods and can work alongside other professionals like speech or occupational therapists if needed.

  • Meet the team

Ruane J Lipkie is the sole practitioner and registered Brisbane psychologist with over 28 years of experience. She holds a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Queensland and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi). Her experience spans working with children, families and adults in both Australia and the UK, with a proven track record using evidence-based therapy methods.

  • Your first visit

The first appointment involves an initial assessment to understand your child's thoughts and feelings in a supportive environment. Play therapy is used as a primary tool to help children feel comfortable expressing themselves without pressure to talk in words. The psychologist will gather important information about your child's emotional state and identify areas where support is needed. Sessions last 50–60 minutes.
