  • Our approach

Wellbeing Clinic uses evidence-based therapeutic interventions combined with clients' lived experience to develop personalised strategies that help children reach their goals. Sessions are supportive, structured and paced to suit each child, with a focus on building understanding and practical strategies for real-world use. The clinic treats clients as people, not conditions, and creates a safe, supportive environment where children feel respected and heard without pressure or judgement. Psychologists work in areas where they have expertise and passion, ensuring the best fit for each child's specific needs. Sessions can be delivered face-to-face, phone or video, adapting to what works best for your family.

  • Working with families

For children and adolescents, parents or caregivers are involved throughout the therapeutic process with guidance and practical strategies to support progress between sessions. The clinic takes time to understand your family's goals and works collaboratively with you to create a treatment plan that fits your circumstances. Sessions are tailored to involve family members as appropriate, and the psychologists provide practical tools and strategies that parents can use at home to reinforce what's happening in sessions. This collaborative approach ensures continuity of support across home, school and other settings.

  • Meet the team

The team comprises eight registered and provisional psychologists, led by Helen Brennan (Clinic Lead Psychologist). The team includes Jennifer Humby (Psychologist and Hypnotherapist), John McQuillen (Clinical Psychologist), Beatriz Mesurace, Lisa Lia, Shelly Fitzpatrick (Provisional Psychologist), Ashleigh Dodds and Sera Elmasri (all Registered Psychologists). All psychologists are registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and bring a range of clinical experience across anxiety, mood, trauma, relationships and developmental support. The clinic's approach emphasises matching each family with a psychologist who has expertise and passion in their specific area of need.

  • Your first visit

The first session focuses on understanding what's been happening for your child and exploring what feels difficult, what's impacting their day-to-day life, and what you'd like to get out of counselling. Depending on the situation, this may involve meeting with your child individually, or with family members present. The clinic creates a relaxed, non-judgmental space where children don't need to have everything figured out—they can simply start with what's been weighing on them. Your psychologist will help clarify issues and increase understanding as the foundation for moving forward together.
