Our approach
Victorian Adolescent and Child Therapy uses an emotionally focused Child-Centered Play Therapy approach, blending elements of behavioural therapy, self-regulation, and attachment theory. Sessions focus on how the brain processes feelings and thoughts to help parents better understand and interact with their child. Play Therapists observe and assist children in working through behavioural problems, social concerns, and trauma through play—which helps children learn to cope with their feelings and redirect inappropriate behaviours. Although play therapy may look like just play, it is much more, as children often cannot express emotions verbally the way adults can.
