  • Our approach

Together Calm uses a trauma-informed, psychodynamic foundation combined with a warm, person-centred approach to create a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space. Sessions are tailored to each individual's needs and goals, drawing on multiple evidence-based modalities including Internal Family Systems, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness. Sarah, the principal psychologist, views the therapeutic relationship as paramount, cultivating an environment where clients can openly explore their feelings at a pace that honours their readiness. Whether you're working through recent or historic trauma, parenting stress, or personal growth, the focus is on empowering you to discover your inner strengths and live a more fulfilling life. Sessions are 50 minutes long, providing ample time for therapeutic exploration tailored to your unique circumstances.

  • Meet the team

Together Calm is managed by Sarah Yates, the principal psychologist, who holds qualifications in BehSc, BPsych (Hons), and is a member of IACN (Cert). With over 15 years of experience and training, Sarah is described as a warm, empathetic, and seasoned psychologist offering a wealth of experience across multiple therapeutic modalities. She has specialised expertise in treating Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, parenting support, and neuroaffirming care for individuals and families living with neurodiversity. Sarah is the proud mother of two neurodivergent children and passionately promotes positive inclusivity and psychoeducation through her practice.

  • Your first visit

At your initial appointment, you'll begin building a therapeutic relationship in a warm, welcoming cottage setting designed to encourage both comfortable conversation and quiet reflection. Sarah will work to understand your areas of need and goals, bringing them into focus and alignment with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach. The session will allow you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and circumstances in a safe space where you feel heard and understood. If you're seeking a Medicare rebate, you'll need a referral from your GP or Psychiatrist beforehand; otherwise, you can attend on a private basis. The initial session costs $270 (with a $96.65 Medicare rebate if eligible), and subsequent sessions are $260 or $230 at the concession rate.
