  • Our approach

Sessions combine occupational therapy and physiotherapy tailored to each child's needs. The centre uses assessment findings to create an individualised therapy plan, then moves straight into engaging, practical therapy sessions. Therapists teach handling, positioning and play strategies to support motor development and help children build the foundations they need for learning and everyday activities. Sessions can occur in the clinic, at school, or online depending on what works best for your child and family.

  • Working with families

Parents are required to be present during assessments and ongoing therapy sessions so therapists can explain what they're doing, teach you strategies and activities to practice at home, and ensure your child's safety. The centre values your involvement in understanding your child's progress and learning how to support their development between sessions. Communication happens through the therapy reports and direct discussions during appointments about your child's goals and progress.

  • Meet the team

The team includes Emma Armstrong (Director and Physiotherapist), Alexandra Lance, Sabina Ratnapala and Bron Gelding (Physiotherapists), Nyree Beattie and Tamara Sharps (Senior Occupational Therapists), Nadege Van Drempt, Sarah Tooker, Savannah Small and Rachel Rolinson (Occupational Therapists), and Sarah Purss (Allied Health Assistant). The therapists are experienced in paediatric assessment and treatment across all age groups, including specialised areas like handwriting difficulties, developmental coordination, and lower limb alignment.

  • Your first visit

The initial appointment is a thorough 2-hour assessment that reviews both occupational therapy and physiotherapy concerns. During this time, the therapist will observe your child's motor skills, discuss your main concerns, and review any previous reports you bring along. After the assessment, a detailed report is written outlining the findings, an individualised therapy plan and recommendations that you can share with schools, your GP or use for NDIS applications. Your input as a parent is important throughout, and you'll learn strategies to support your child at home before therapy sessions begin.
