We have helped thousands of children reach their full potential for over 50 years. - World-leading early intervention service for babies and toddlers with hearing loss, including individual and group programs.
- First Sounds Implant Program
- Joint initiative with Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick providing medical, audiological and family support for children considering implantable hearing solutions such as cochlear implants or bone conduction implant systems.
- School-Age Services
- Range of school-age services in NDIS areas, including school visits and one-to-one and group programs.
- Unilateral & Mild Hearing Loss Program
- Sound Direction Plus program tailored for children with unilateral and mild levels of hearing loss, including functional listening checks and transdisciplinary team appointments.
- Inclusive Preschools

- Youth Mentoring

Working with families
The Shepherd Centre is committed to supporting and growing strong families through guidance and coaching tailored to each unique family. If your family is already with The Shepherd Centre or planning to choose them as a service provider, the team will support you through planning processes and provide supporting documents for meetings with the NDIA. The organisation values family input and feedback, encouraging parents to reach out to their immediate team with questions. Meet the team
The leadership team includes Dr Aleisha Davis (Chief Executive Officer), a speech pathologist with a Masters in Applied Linguistics who has worked with hundreds of families and children with hearing loss. The clinical teams comprise Listening & Spoken Language Specialists, Paediatric Audiologists, Child & Family Counsellors and Early Childhood Educators. Additional support includes an interdisciplinary team that collaborates with Sydney Children's Hospital and ENT specialists, particularly for cochlear implant programs. The organisation emphasises skilled and engaged staff aligned with its mission.
Your first visit
The first step is a free discovery call with a specialist who will listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and recommend how their services can support your child's progress. For early intervention clients, this is a 15-minute initial call to understand your family's situation and goals. The specialist will discuss your child's needs and how the programs align with your family's aspirations. This conversation helps determine the best pathway forward and ensures you have all the information needed to make informed decisions about your child's support.
