Our approach
The Potential Ability Group delivers occupational therapy using a person-centred approach, placing clients at the centre of all planning and support processes while recognising their uniqueness and respecting their identity. Sessions are conducted on site in the client's natural environment—home, school, or other therapeutically beneficial locations—allowing the therapist to plan with available tools and spaces in mind, avoiding long waits in clinics. The focus is on what clients need and want to do in their everyday lives, from practical goals like tying shoelaces to exploring new foods, living safely at home, or participating in learning and community. Therapists work collaboratively with chosen supporters as partners, maximising personal connection, social participation and independence. Sessions are customised for each client and include detailed planning and case notes, with options for shorter 'Focus' sessions for younger children or longer 'Thrive' sessions for older children and adults.
