• Our approach

  The OT Group offers person-centred, goal-focused and evidence-based occupational therapy designed to help children develop the skills they need to grow into functional, independent adults. Sessions focus on addressing challenges related to sensory, motor, social and emotional development that may impact a child's ability to perform everyday tasks, engage in meaningful activities and perform at school. The team works collaboratively with families and carers, constantly sharing celebrated progress and outcomes. Services are tailored to individual needs and may include home modifications, equipment prescription, assistive technology, and support across multiple settings including the home, schools, kindergartens and early learning centres. The approach emphasises helping children achieve their personal goals while building confidence and independence.

  The OT Group is passionate about ongoing client and family relationships, focusing on individual needs and goals in close partnership with parents and carers. The team collaborates constantly with families, sharing celebrated progress—or "Weekly Wins"—with participants, their families and caregivers to keep everyone informed and engaged. Family communication and involvement are central to the service model, with therapists advocating on behalf of children and working together with parents to achieve meaningful outcomes. Sessions often involve capacity building components, particularly in specialised areas like the Sequential-Oral-Sensory approach to feeding, where families are supported to implement strategies beyond therapy sessions.

• Meet the team

  The OT Group is exclusively staffed by occupational therapists led by Founder and Managing Director Rebecca Purvis, who holds a Master of Business Administration and has over 20 years of clinical experience since qualifying in 1999. The leadership team averages over 35 years in healthcare and includes specialist clinicians such as Ruel Solitario (Team Leader with 15+ years in paediatric practice), Kye Pearce (Team Leader with extensive experience in children with ASD and intellectual disabilities, and accredited SOS feeding therapist), and Sarah Stadler (Early Career Mentor and qualified OT Driving Assessor with special interest in neurodivergent adolescents and young adults). All team members hold relevant tertiary qualifications in occupational therapy and many have additional specialised training in areas such as complex home modifications, driving assessment, and sensory interventions.
