Working with families
For children under 18, the clinic communicates directly with parents and carers regarding appointments, clinical information, and care decisions, recognising the important supportive role families play. Once a patient turns 18, communication transitions directly to the young person to support their autonomy and privacy, though patients are always welcome to involve family members in their care if they choose. This approach respects confidentiality while ensuring clear communication with those responsible for the child's wellbeing.
