- Occupational Therapy Intervention
- OT intervention to support children to meet developmental milestones, become more independent, and engage in important activities. Addresses fine motor skills, upper limb function, sensory needs, emotional regulation, cognitive skills, play skills, school readiness, self-care skills, puberty awareness, and community safety.
- Autism Diagnostic Assessment
- Partnership with a Speech Pathology service to provide the allied health component of an autism diagnostic assessment for children aged 3-16 years.
- Developmental Assessment
- Assessment suitable for children with developmental concerns aged 0-8 years, using two standardised assessment tools to identify how the child is tracking compared to similar-aged children.
- Sensory Profile Assessment
- Assessment to identify a child's sensory preferences and provide strategies to support their sensory needs during everyday tasks.
- Functional Capacity Assessment
- Comprehensive assessment providing in-depth information about a child's level of independence and support needs, recognised by the NDIS to support funding requests.
- Assistive Technology Prescription
- Prescription of paediatric assistive technology including wheelchairs, commodes, hoists, electric beds, activity chairs, and specialised car seats.

Our approach
At Strive and Thrive Therapy, sessions focus on supporting your child's unique developmental needs through occupational therapy delivered in your home. The therapist works to empower you with knowledge about your child's development so you can make informed decisions about their support. Services include developmental assessments for children with delays, as well as targeted intervention blocks to help build specific skills. The approach centres on helping children become as independent as possible in their everyday tasks and activities. Sessions are tailored to your child's individual circumstances, whether they're experiencing developmental concerns or managing a disability.

Your first visit
At your first appointment, the therapist will conduct an initial assessment to understand your child's specific needs and circumstances. Depending on your situation, this may take the form of a developmental assessment (for children aged 0-8), a sensory profile assessment, a functional capacity assessment, or an autism diagnostic assessment. The therapist will work with you to identify areas where your child needs more support and develop a plan tailored to their requirements. If appropriate, a block of therapy can then be arranged to target the delayed skills or areas identified. The assessment process is designed to give you clarity about your child's development and the best way forward.
