  • Our approach

At Sprout Learning, therapy is play-based, engaging, and tailored to each child's interests and strengths. Sessions incorporate games, toys, books, and interactive activities designed to be fun while targeting specific speech and language goals. The team combines evidence-based practice with genuine care, taking time to understand each child and creating a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe to grow. Family involvement is central to the approach—caregivers receive strategies and activities to practise at home, reinforcing skills learned during sessions. Sessions are designed to be collaborative, with the therapist working closely with parents to achieve meaningful outcomes that extend beyond the therapy room.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to Sprout Learning's approach, with therapists believing that parents and carers know their children best. Caregivers receive detailed strategies and activities from their speech pathologist to practise at home, reinforcing the skills learned during therapy sessions and ensuring progress continues beyond the clinic. The team regularly discusses your child's progress with you and provides written reports, working collaboratively with families to develop therapy plans that are realistic, achievable, and tailored to each family's needs and priorities. Parents are welcome to ask questions and remain involved in the decision-making process, with the therapist taking time to understand what matters most to each child and family. This partnership approach means that therapy goals are grounded in everyday routines and real-life contexts that are meaningful to your family.

  • Meet the team

Sprout Learning's team is led by founder and clinical director Grace Murray, a senior speech pathologist with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Charles Sturt University. The team includes six certified practising speech pathologists: Kiara Healey (Master of Speech Pathology, La Trobe University), Jasmine Tollmar (Master of Speech Pathology, University of Melbourne), Danielle Said (Master of Speech Pathology, University of Melbourne, plus background in psychology), Sarah Elbob (Bachelor of Speech Pathology, Australian Catholic University), Aarushi Botadra (Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy, Massey University), and Phoebe Ho. All therapists hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with evidence-based practice. The team is united by shared values of empowerment, compassion, inclusivity, and fun, with expertise across speech sounds, language delays and disorders, literacy, fluency, social communication, stuttering, play, listening, and attention.

  • Your first visit

Your first appointment is an initial consultation where the speech pathologist will interact with your child through play and structured activities to evaluate their communication skills. The clinician will also gather information from you about your child's development history and any concerns you have. This session is important as it gives the therapist an opportunity to understand your child's unique strengths and challenges, as well as your family's goals and priorities. Following the appointment, you'll receive a written report summarising the findings, recommendations, and a personalised plan for next steps. The initial consultation is 60 minutes and provides a clear picture of where your child is at developmentally.
