  • Our approach

Communication should be fun and family-centred. Sessions combine play and structured activities tailored to your child's needs, whether focusing on early communication skills, language development, speech sounds, or fluency. The approach empowers families to support their child's communication development at home during everyday routines and play. Evidence-based therapy is offered across four main service areas: early communication using gestures and vocalisations, receptive and expressive language, speech sound production, and stuttering support including the Lidcombe Program.

  • Working with families

Parents and carers are central to the therapy approach. For early communication, parent coaching is offered to help you learn how to build meaningful interactions that encourage your child to communicate during play and everyday routines. Following your child's assessment, you'll receive verbal feedback and a brief written summary of results. The provider partners closely with families, combining their unique strengths, values, and priorities to reach goals together, and typically recommends weekly or fortnightly appointments depending on your child's goals.

  • Your first visit

The initial speech pathology assessment involves collecting information about your child's development and any concerns you may have. The therapist will interact with your child through play and structured activities to assess their communication skills. This assessment is necessary to understand your child's strengths and identify areas that may require support. You're welcome to bring a favourite toy or book to help your child feel comfortable, and any previous allied health reports or relevant medical history. In some cases, two appointments may be needed to complete the full assessment.
