  • Our approach

Spot Therapy Hub takes a neurodiversity-affirming approach that centres identity, strengths, and acceptance, viewing neurodivergence as a natural and valuable part of human diversity. Sessions are grounded in respect, listening deeply to each person's story and perspective, while using interview, clinical observations, and standardised assessments to build a holistic understanding. The practice emphasises trauma-informed, compassionate support that prioritises nervous system safety and feels genuinely authentic. Every aspect of therapy is guided by a focus on strengths alongside understanding vulnerabilities, enabling the development of meaningful goals that matter most to you and your family.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to Spot's work, beginning with comprehensive initial conversations where parents and carers share their observations, priorities, and what matters most. The practice believes in the power of understanding not just the individual but the whole family context, and verbal feedback is always provided following assessment. Reports are recommended for all clients to help communicate results and recommendations in writing, particularly when other professionals are involved in care. Throughout therapy, the approach respects families as partners in the process, listening deeply to their perspective and honouring their choices about how to move forward.

  • Your first visit

Your initial appointment begins with a conversation with the Clinical Coordinator, who will explain what to expect, who should attend, and how long the assessment may take. You'll be asked to complete a Client Questionnaire and may be requested to provide reports from other health professionals or educators. The assessment itself uses interview, clinical observations, and standardised assessments to build a comprehensive, holistic picture of the individual and their family. This thorough approach enables the team to develop a relationship with you, understand what matters most, identify both strengths and areas of need, and determine the best starting point for therapeutic support.
