  • Our approach

Solasta uses a strength-focused, individualised approach drawing on evidence-based therapeutic methods. Staff members employ a range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other evidence-based techniques tailored to each person's needs. Sessions are collaborative and non-judgemental, with therapists working to build insight and understanding while developing new ways to manage difficulties. The team is passionate about recognising and building on each person's strengths while respecting individual choice, and many staff members specifically adapt their approach to fit each client's learning style, age and interests.

  • Working with families

The team works collaboratively with families and carers throughout the therapy process. Staff members consult with parents and carers to understand children's needs and develop effective strategies that can be used across home and school settings. Many psychologists specifically mention working with families and schools to foster children's social and emotional wellbeing, and the team frequently provides training and support to families, teachers and support staff. The collaborative, non-judgemental approach extends to regular communication with families as part of the therapeutic partnership.
