  • Our approach

Solace Psychology uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Schema Therapy to support healing and personal development. Sessions are approximately 50 minutes long and tailored to your individual needs and goals. The practice creates a supportive, confidential space where you can freely express, reflect, and reconnect with your strengths. Psychologists work collaboratively with you to understand your unique challenges and craft personalised treatment plans that align with your values and life situation. The therapeutic relationship is central to the healing process, with psychologists bringing both professional expertise and genuine empathy to every session.

  • Meet the team

Solace Psychology has a diverse team of seasoned Melbourne psychologists, including Nazli Kayhan (Masters of Clinical Psychology), Robyn Begg (Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology, Couples Therapy), Libby Perkins (Masters of Counselling Psychology), and Luke Bamford (Masters of Clinical Psychology, Couples Therapy). All team members are registered with AHPRA and use evidence-based and trauma-informed therapies. The team works with individuals from all backgrounds and provides LGBTQIA+ safe care, bringing years of experience, professional expertise, and genuine empathy to their work.

  • Your first visit

During your first one to two sessions, your psychologist will ask questions about your experience, history, and goals to develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. This is a good opportunity for you to ask questions about your psychologist's style of therapy and how they work. Before your first appointment, the Client Support team will match you with a registered psychologist whose experience and style best fit your needs, and will provide you with all necessary information including your appointment time, location, and psychologist's details. Along the way, your psychologist will check in with you about how the treatment is tracking and whether you need more or less emphasis on particular areas.
