  • Our approach

At Singhi Speech Therapy, sessions focus on helping your child build communication skills while having fun throughout the learning process. The therapist uses standardised testing to ensure treatment matches your child's specific needs. Most children attend weekly 45-minute sessions with the Speech Pathologist as part of a block of treatment (typically 8-12 weeks). Research shows that consistent block treatment combined with home programs completed each week leads to the most effective and lasting communication improvements. An individual care treatment plan is developed with your input, clearly outlining your child's goals and the pathway to mastery.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the therapy approach. The Speech Pathologist provides you with tools and strategies to work on your child's goals at home each week, which research shows leads to faster progress and longer-lasting improvements. The practice also believes in working with other key people in your child's daily life, such as daycare educators, preschool and school teachers, to ensure communication and eating strategies are reinforced across all settings. This collaborative approach helps skills learned in therapy carry over into everyday life.

  • Your first visit

Your first visit includes an initial consultation and comprehensive assessment with the Speech Pathologist. Within 2 weeks of the assessment, you'll receive a written report detailing the findings. At your next appointment, you'll discuss the report together and work with the therapist to develop an individual care treatment plan that clearly outlines your child's goals and the pathway forward. At this time, you can also discuss the recommended treatment schedule to find what works best for your family.
