• Our approach

  EarlyEd uses a family-centred approach to early intervention that is responsive to your concerns, priorities and choices. Sessions are tailored to your child's specific needs, delivered flexibly in individual settings, group environments, home-based services, or within preschool and school settings. A team of early childhood educators, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, family support workers and behaviour specialists work together in a transdisciplinary way, bringing knowledge and skills across disciplines to support your child's learning and participation. The organisation is committed to evidence-based best practice, helping children of all ages with developmental delays or disabilities be included in family life, childcare, school, sport and community activities.

• Working with families

  Parents and carers are central partners in the intervention process. Communication happens through regular planning and review meetings, where families work together with their team towards the outcomes they want for their child. Parent training is a key service, with programs including the renowned Hanen® programs, parenting seminars and behaviour workshops. The organisation also offers MyTime parent support groups where parents, grandparents and carers can take time out, chat with others, share experiences and concerns, and receive support from early childhood interventionists. Strategies developed during therapy are taught to parents so they can be incorporated into their child's daily routine across home, school, preschool and community settings.

• Meet the team

  The team consists of early childhood educators, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, family support workers and behaviour specialists, all with expertise in child development and the specific needs of children with developmental delays or disabilities. Staff have extra training in supporting children across all ages and difficulties to be included in family life and community settings. The organisation is well-established with over 40 years of experience, committed to professional development through continuing training, mentoring, peer support and supervision.
