Our approach
The clinic takes a solution-focused, practical approach to support children and families managing emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges. Sessions use evidence-based methods tailored to each child's unique needs, delivered in a relaxed and supportive environment. The team prides itself on common-sense, no-nonsense advice and works collaboratively with parents, schools, and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes. Flexible service options including in-clinic and telehealth appointments are available to suit your family's needs.
Working with families
The clinic works collaboratively with parents and caregivers throughout the assessment and treatment process. For autism assessments, the team conducts in-depth discussions with parents or guardians to understand developmental history, current concerns, and the child's behaviour in different settings. Results are explained in detail at the conclusion of appointments, and the team guides parents toward appropriate supports and next steps. The collaborative approach extends to working with schools and health professionals to support your child's wellbeing.
Meet the team
The team is led by Clare Rowe, an Educational & Developmental Psychologist and Principal & Clinic Director. Registered Psychologists on the team include Carly Black, Polly Havard, Joanne Sorrentino, Rickii Lotsaris, Nerine Corbett, and Clinical Psychologist Caitlin Hill. All psychologists have substantial experience working with children, adolescents and families, with specific training and expertise in child and family psychology. Alison Rice provides practice administration support. The team brings expertise across mental health, leadership, and trauma-informed care.
Your first visit
At the first appointment, the friendly staff will answer any questions and recommend the most appropriate psychologist based on your child's current concerns. For assessments like autism evaluations, the process is thorough and individualised, potentially including parent and teacher interviews, direct observations of your child in different settings, cognitive testing, and autism-specific assessments using evidence-based tools. The team takes care to explain results in detail and outlines next steps, including any recommended supports or interventions. You'll receive practical recommendations tailored to your child's individual needs.
