  • Our approach

Individual therapy sessions are based on evidence-based treatment interventions that have been shown to provide good outcomes. During the first session, your psychologist will gain an understanding of the issues that have brought you to therapy, discuss your current concerns, and explore areas both present and past that may be contributing to your symptoms. Your psychologist will work with you to set goals for your coming sessions and use scientifically proven approaches focused on 'talking' therapies to help you manage your concerns.

  • Meet the team

The team includes General Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, and Educational and Developmental Psychologists. General Psychologists undertake a minimum of four years of university training plus two years of supervised internship, while Clinical, Educational and Developmental Psychologists have undertaken six years of university training. All team members participate in ongoing professional development and supervision to maintain their registration. The psychologists are selected for the team because of their compassion and genuine care, and the practice is described as having a team of experienced and caring people with a passion for helping others.

  • Your first visit

The first session is an opportunity for your psychologist to understand the issues that have brought you to therapy and discuss your current concerns. Your psychologist will explore relevant background information to identify areas that may be contributing to your symptoms, then work with you to set goals for future sessions. Prior to your appointment, you'll receive an email to complete a consent form online so it doesn't take up time during your session. You're welcome to bring a paper copy of your mental health care plan referral from your GP if you have one, or notes about goals you'd like to work on.
