Our approach
Red Soup Speech Pathology uses a holistic, client-centered, evidence-based approach to help children and adolescents communicate and swallow effectively after traumatic brain injury. Therapy is tailored to each child's unique needs and focuses on functional communication, cognitive abilities, and safe swallowing skills. Sessions take place in the environment where the child feels most comfortable—whether at home, in the community, or at the clinic. The team works with the whole person, considering physical, cognitive, and emotional needs, to ensure treatment plans are personalized, practical, and achievable. Therapy aims to deliver measurable outcomes that help children thrive in their daily activities and enhance their overall quality of life.
Working with families
Red Soup believes in a team-based approach and actively collaborates with families, carers, and advocates to gather essential information and support meaningful progress. The team provides families with training and practical support to help translate therapy goals into real, tangible results at home and in the community. Communication and collaboration with families is central to the service delivery model, ensuring parents and carers are involved in developing and implementing personalised treatment plans. The focus is on working together with the whole family to deliver compassionate, practical solutions that support the child's progress and lasting improvement. By involving families as partners in therapy, the team helps ensure that therapeutic gains extend beyond clinical sessions into everyday life.
