Our approach
Each therapist at Randwick Psychology Centre uses evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual. Therapists draw on cognitive behaviour therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, schema therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy depending on the client's needs and preferences. Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes long and are based on a sound treatment plan and diagnosis developed during initial consultations. The centre emphasises that psychology involves the therapist and client working together, with clients often given tasks and activities to complete between sessions to maximise the benefit of therapy.
Meet the team
The centre has a team of independent psychologists in private practice, each with their own qualifications and experience. Several are endorsed clinical psychologists or hold doctorates in clinical psychology. Team members include Sally-Anne Ramke (Endorsed Clinical Psychologist, Doctorate from University of Sydney), Peter Cox (private practice over 10 years, cognitive behaviour therapist), Suki Scade (experienced in children, adolescents and adults), Ryan Kaplan (extensive experience in adults and young people, public and private mental health sectors), Annie Clark (20 years clinical experience, specialises in depression, anxiety, trauma), Belinda Galovic (Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology, experience with children and adolescents), and Natasha Butcher (17 years as a psychologist, 10+ years in private practice).
Your first visit
Your first appointment involves a detailed assessment where your therapist will make a diagnosis and discuss your treatment approach with you. If you have a GP referral with a Mental Health Treatment Plan, bring this with you. At your first visit, you should discuss your therapist's fees, cancellation policy, payment methods and how often you'll need to attend. Your therapist will also outline what they expect you to do between sessions and discuss the therapeutic approach they wish to take. The therapist will use this initial period to understand your presentation and preferences so treatment can be individualised.
