Our approach
The clinic takes a holistic, functional approach to paediatric physiotherapy, aiming to optimise children's physical development and functional performance at different life stages. Treatment focuses on three key areas: evaluating body structures and function to identify deficits; assessing what activities children can and cannot do; and working towards meaningful participation in family, school and community life. Sessions address goals important to each child and family, whether that's running, riding a bike, handwriting or participating with peers. The environment is designed to be fun and dynamic, particularly through specialised programs like Hard Core Kids® which creates an engaging exercise setting for children aged 3–18 years.
Working with families
The clinic emphasises collaborative partnership with parents and carers, particularly in early intervention and infant care where parent education is central to managing postural concerns. For all children, treatment goals are developed around activities that matter to the family, ensuring therapy aligns with what parents and children value most. Occupational therapists specifically work with parents, educators and carers to support development at home and school, while the overall philosophy prioritises minimising the impact of injury, pain or disability on the child's participation within the family and community context.
Meet the team
The clinic has over 26 physiotherapy professionals on staff, including senior physiotherapists, paediatric exercise physiologists, and occupational therapists with qualifications such as BPhty (Bachelor of Physiotherapy). At the Indooroopilly clinic specifically, the team includes Nicole Haynes (Principal Paediatric Physiotherapist), Emmah Baque, Alice Scura, and Stephanie Tucker (all Physiotherapists), Avin Dhakal and Brooke Johnston (Exercise Physiologists), and an external Occupational Therapist. Each practitioner brings specialist experience in areas ranging from developmental physiology to musculoskeletal conditions and neurological disabilities.
