  • Working with families

Parents and carers are central to the assessment and treatment process from the very first appointment. The clinical psychologist engages directly with parents to understand the presenting concerns and work collaboratively on developing a treatment plan. The provider recognises that family involvement is key to addressing emotional and behavioural concerns effectively. The team also collaborates with educational and other health professionals involved in the child's care to ensure a coordinated approach.

  • Meet the team

The team includes 11 clinical psychologists: Tracy Macmillan, Roderick Gawthrop, Kasia Odgers, Susanne Norder, Elaine Kelly, Scott Fatt, Amy Datyner, Chris Basten, Christina Thai, Meredith Medway, and Maria Milic, along with Sayeeda Ghani. All are qualified clinical psychologists based across the Chatswood and Westmead offices in Sydney. The group specialises in a wide range of emotional and behavioural concerns in children and teens. They also collaborate with educational and other health professionals involved in a child's care.

  • Your first visit

The first appointment is an assessment where the clinical psychologist engages with parents and the child or teen to gain a thorough understanding of the presenting concerns. This collaborative process is used to develop a treatment plan that works for the family. The psychologist takes time to listen to the child's, teen's and family's perspective on what has brought them in. Following this discussion, suitable treatment options are discussed and agreed upon together.
