  • Our approach

The approach is built around creating what's called the "Calm Dynamic"—a state where rest comes from overwhelm and anxiety, and from there you can take meaningful action and deepen connection. Sessions focus on practical, evidence-based strategies to help children move from anxious to brave, manage anger, overcome school refusal, sleep better, build resilience against bullying, and increase happiness. All therapy is conducted online, with the structure varying by age: children under 7 work with parents, those aged 7–10 have parents present for most sessions, and older children's arrangements depend on their individual needs and therapy goals. Between sessions, children practice strategies at home through activities like breathing exercises, videos, and reading, with parental support an essential part of the therapeutic process.

  • Working with families

Parents play an active role throughout therapy. You'll attend sessions (the amount varying by your child's age and needs), set up a private, interrupt-free space for online sessions, and help your child practice therapeutic strategies and complete activities between appointments. Open communication is important—you're asked to be honest about your child's background, notify the psychologist promptly of absences or significant life changes, and commit to supporting the therapy process with your encouragement. Your support and involvement are described as essential to helping your child through the changes therapy brings.

  • Meet the team

The service is led by Kim Ross, a Child and Adolescent Psychologist with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Psychology in Education and Development, registered with the Australian Association of Psychologists. The website does not mention additional team members, indicating this appears to be a solo practice.

  • Your first visit

The first appointment is reserved for parents only, though you're welcome to invite other adults with legal or custodial care of your child. During this session, you'll discuss your concerns and goals for your child, share relevant background information, and learn how therapy and sessions are structured. Before the session, you'll need to complete all forms and read the information provided. This initial consultation sets the foundation for understanding what to expect and how the therapist will work with your family.
