  • Our approach

At Playful Paediatrics, therapy is grounded in play, connection and real-life routines—not just what happens during sessions. The team believes that play isn't a distraction from learning; it's how connection forms, communication feels safe, and real progress begins. Sessions are designed to support children's development in a calm, familiar environment where parenting instincts are trusted. Rather than focusing on "doing more," the approach emphasizes creating safe, connected opportunities where communication feels rewarding rather than pressured. Progress is understood as happening in waves, with the team supporting both children and the adults around them to slow down, adjust expectations and meet children where they are right now.

  • Working with families

Parents and carers are central to the support model. The team works alongside families to help them understand what's going on and how to support their child day to day without feeling overwhelmed or unsure, offering clear guidance and practical strategies that fit into busy parenting routines. Beyond individual sessions, the service offers group meet-ups designed to build connection, confidence and communication while helping families feel less alone. The team also collaborates with educators and other professionals involved in a child's world to support consistency across home, school and therapy, ensuring that strategies make sense in everyday environments and through key transitions.
