  • Our approach

Pepper Kids Therapy takes an evidence-based approach, using up-to-date assessments and current research to guide therapy. The team provides services across speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychology, and parent coaching in a multi-disciplinary setting. Sessions include both face-to-face time with your child and non-face-to-face time where clinicians prepare for sessions, complete documentation, and share updates with your family. The clinic offers flexible delivery options including clinic-based appointments, community visits, and telehealth sessions tailored to your family's needs. The team is passionate about helping children succeed and works collaboratively with families throughout the therapeutic process.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the therapy process. Initial assessments include dedicated parent-only consultations to discuss your child's needs, goals, and home environment. The clinic is committed to collaborating with parents and guardians to develop individualised support plans. Clinicians spend non-face-to-face time communicating with families through various methods (phone, email, reports) and sharing progress updates with your support network as appropriate. The Adult Attendance Policy recognises the important role parents and guardians play in creating safe and effective therapy environments.

  • Meet the team

The team includes over 50 qualified practitioners with specialised roles including Serena Lee (Psychology Lead, Clinical & Counselling Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor), Lisa Smith (Senior Speech Pathologist & Team Leader based at Brendale), and Snehal Vaidya (Occupational Therapy Lead). The clinic employs speech pathologists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, provisional psychologists, and support staff across multiple clinic locations. All team members are certified practitioners trained in paediatric-focused care and evidence-based practice, working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary clinic structure.

  • Your first visit

Your first appointment begins with an initial parent-only consultation to understand your child's needs and goals. For NDIS clients, this includes a 50-60 minute consultation (depending on the service) followed by non-face-to-face planning time where the clinician develops a treatment plan and collaborates with you to create a support plan. For Medicare and private clients, the initial consultation is briefer at 30 minutes for speech/occupational therapy or 60 minutes for psychology. The clinician will discuss the results, answer your questions, and outline the next steps for ongoing therapy. Billing for the intake appointment varies depending on your funding arrangement.

Session length varies between clinics and services, so check it with the provider when you book. The number depends on your child's goals; the pathologist will recommend a plan after the initial assessment.
