  • Our approach

Play is at the heart of therapy at OTFC+. The approach harnesses the power of play and its limitless possibilities to help young people reach their full potential and master their universe. Therapists make play purposeful and effective, so while children think they're simply playing, they're actually improving on and learning new skills. Sessions take place in Australian-first sensory gyms specifically designed to motivate clients to work beyond what they think they are capable of. The philosophy centres on creating an environment where young people feel in control and confident in their abilities.

  • Working with families

Parents and carers are central to the OTFC+ approach. The organisation offers dedicated Parent Consults & Education through online masterclasses and in-person events designed to empower you to better support your young person. The team also provides In-Community Therapy at home or in school settings, enabling continuity of care and providing practical strategies in real-life settings where parents can learn alongside their child. The Client Services Team maintains ongoing communication to discuss concerns, answer questions, and support families through their occupational therapy journey. Additionally, the organisation offers NDIS support and resources to help navigate the system from the outset.

  • Your first visit

A first appointment begins with a free Meet & Greet Consultation where new families can explore whether occupational therapy is the right fit for their young person. After this initial consultation, a robust assessment is conducted to understand exactly where your child's challenges stem from. This assessment allows the therapists to identify the specific areas to address through therapy. The Client Services Team will discuss your concerns, answer questions, and recommend which services would be most appropriate for your child's needs. Following assessment, therapy can then be tailored specifically to your young person's situation.
