Orana Early Childhood Intervention lists

Physiotherapy
Assists babies to achieve gross motor milestones including rolling, crawling, sitting, and walking through the Baby Steps program. Supports older children to develop core strength, balance, ball skills, jumping, skipping, hopping and running, and assesses need for specialised equipment.
Speech Pathology
Diagnoses and treats communication disorders including speaking, listening, understanding language, social skills, stuttering and voice concerns. Incorporates specialised and alternative communication methods, including Speech Generating Devices.
Occupational Therapy
Supports children's development in self-care, fine motor, sensory, play and cognition. Focuses on increasing functional ability to complete activities of daily living whilst considering environment and required supports or modifications.
Early Childhood Education
Supports children to improve cognition, concentration, attention, socialisation and play skills. Educators liaise with families and external services to facilitate smooth entry into Preschool and School.

  • Our approach

    Orana Early Childhood Intervention works collaboratively with families and children using evidence-based practices tailored to each child's needs. The team delivers integrated and coordinated services through individualised assessments and therapy sessions, with all early intervention staff administering assessments, conducting observations and delivering therapy. Family-centred practice is central to their approach—they aim to meet the needs of the whole family, not just the child, and work with you to meet your changing goals. Each family is allocated a Key Worker who serves as the main point of contact, liaising closely with you and coordinating internal therapists to ensure smooth service delivery.

  • Working with families

    Family involvement is central to the service philosophy through family-centred practice, which means the team works in collaboration with you to understand and meet your changing needs and goals. Your Key Worker maintains close liaison with you and communicates and advocates on your behalf with external services such as paediatricians and NDIS. Beyond individual therapy, families also participate in PlayConnect+ playgroups and the My Time program, which bring parents and carers together to learn strategies, access peer support and discuss experiences. The service aims to support the whole family, not just the child alone.

The multidisciplinary team provides therapy across speech pathology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and early childhood education, with staff described as dedicated and passionate.
